Guess who’s bark?

That’s right, it’s me, and I’ve got a juicy topic to sink my teeth into for this blog post. As I embark on my new role as a Recruitment and Marketing Consultant, I couldn’t think of a better subject to kick off my second week than… Marketing

After doing some research for my new role i am forming a deeper understanding of Marketing So, I decided to sit down and put somes thoughts to digital paper, clarifying the basics and shedding some light on this.

Now, let’s start by breaking down the essence marketing at its core.

So, grab a cuppa, settle in, and let’s dive right in.

Marketing

“ Marketing is the management process responsible for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably.”

Now you may think marketing is only for flashy car ads and big brands but its not!

Marketing is all about getting the word out about services, initiatives, and programs. Using market research, branding, and creative tactics to spread a message far and wide.

The aim is to grab attention, inspire action, and show the public why they should jump on board. From social media campaigns to catchy slogans and community outreach. The teams aim is to use marketing to make Dorset Council shine as an employer of choice

This is really something that is new for Dorset Council and i am excited to push marketing more front and centre with our recruitment.

The Recruitment and Attraction team

So this brings me to the brand spanking new team that is all about marketing and attracting!

This is a new team for Dorset Council with the Vision:

to be an employer of choice and competitive within the recruitment market, delivering excellence, innovation, and inclusion in every aspect of our work.

Purpose:

to provide a creative fair and transparent service that meets the need and expectations of our managers and candidates. We attract the best talent with an approach that aligns with Dorset Council mission values and behaviours.

As a team, we understand that traditional recruitment methods just won’t cut it anymore. We’re all about breaking the mold and doing things differently.

What we are doing

Our team is on a mission to create a buzz around our job opportunities.

We’re not content with dull, run-of-the-mill job postings. Instead, we’re all about crafting engaging social media campaigns and eye-catching advertisements that make people stop scrolling and take notice. We want to captivate the attention of talented people who are seeking an organisation that dares to think outside the box.

But it’s not just about being different for the sake of it. Its following trends, showcasing some personality/creativity and challengeing the perception of a council and local government. It’s not just about finding candidates with the right skills; it’s about finding individuals who share our values and vision.

We’re on a mission to build a team that is passionate, diverse, and ready to make a real impact on the lives of those we serve.

Now this will not be a solo act. This will involve collaborating across the council and sharing expertise to see how we can push this vision together and help Dorset Council become an employer of choice together.

We want to rewrite the rules of recruitment. Break free from the norm and embrace the extraordinary.
